Here’s a little preview from our documentary, Catching Salinger. Featured in the clip is Brigadier General Alfred Sanelli, a classmate of J.D. Salinger’s at Valley Forge Military Academy (the author’s inspiration for Pency Prep). The General passed away in Dec. of 2005.

In January, 2005, myself and two other phonies from Cleveland, Ohio, set out to retrace the steps of Holden Caulfield from the novel The Catcher in the Rye and to speak with the book’s author, J.D. Salinger, who has remained in seclusion since 1965.
The journey was full of surprises and chance encounters with people and locations who influenced Salinger’s most popular work.
We took along a camera to document the adventure, but due to strange legal battles, have not been been to share this film with you.
Until now.
Beginning July 6 at 9PM, we will be premiering the first part of the six-part documentary that has always been titled, Catching Salinger. Each new episode will premiere at 9PM on following Mondays.
We hope you enjoy coming along for the ride.
